Speaker:  Kathy Sanders, FNP, MPH is board certified as a family nurse practitioner. She has a master's degree in public health, and completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University Of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil through a scholarship from the Bravewell collaborative.  Ms. Sanders works at the Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Ms. Sanders will discuss the role of integrative medicine and well-being and health. The focus of integrative medicine is to find out who you are, how you live and what your personal goals may be, as well as on how your lifestyle impacts illnesses, injury and chronic medical conditions.

Scholarships:

$200 million available for loan repayment from Federal stimulus money. NPs are eligible:

The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program will accept applications continuously until funds are expended or Sept. 30, 2010, whichever comes first. Primary care physicians (MD or DO), dentists, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, physician assistants, dental hygienists and mental health clinicians (health service psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatric nurse specialists, marriage and family therapists and licensed professional counselors) are eligible to apply. You may apply even if you are not already working at an approved NHSC site. If selected to receive an award, you will need to become employed at an approved site within 30 days.
